• Now we turn to cultural life in Georgian cities, primarily the theatre and music. Note that those aspects of city life interplay with topics studied in other parts of the course: in the study of music, you will find details of concert rooms, and from there you may trace their position on the map, and look at their architectural environment (studied in the previous chapter of the course Unit 1), or you may focus on the cultural and social life of the inhabitants (to be studied later, Unit 9). The purpose of the website is to use hyperlinks to show the connections between different aspects of city life.
  • In the Georgian Cities website, study :
    * the relevant pages on each city:
    - Bath: Bath/Music in Bath and Bath/Society/Social life/Fashionable society/The theatre
    - London: London/Music in London and London/Society/Theatres
    - Edinburgh: Edinburgh/Music in Edinburgh and Edinburgh/Society/Leisure
    * also study the synthetic section 'Topics', in Topics/Culture and the arts, selecting the pages on music and the theatre.
