Save the photo of the Golden Gate Bridge above. In the toolbox, select the Perspective tool. Position the pointer on an angle of the photo and drag it in the direction you wish, then also drag the other corners, and click Transform in the dialogue box. Here you see two possible results: in the first image, the perspective effect is strenghtened because the corners have been brought closer and thus the image is narrower. In the second image a reverse-angle shot has been simulated because the lower corners have been left in place but the top corners have been brought together. |
Historically and down to the present day, strong perspective effects have been used for artists' impressions, whereas reduced or suppressed perspective effects are suitable for technical drawings - they are traditionnally used for architects' designs, and professional cameras have a device to suppress vertical perspective. In the present exercise on the contrary, perspective has been emphasised to give a more emotional impression.
